Does Google Support Paid Links? Find out!

logo

The most discussed or should I rather use the term ‘debated’ topic on Search Engine Optimisation / Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Link Building would be “Does Google Support Paid Links?” Find out what Google’s opinion about this at their Webmaster Support Center.

  1. Why should I report paid links to Google?
  2. SEO Guidelines from Google

Its evident that Google is against Paid Links / Un-Natural Link Building Strategies, most of their guidelines at help center do provide you solutions to avoid paid links, which could end up penalizing your domain name. Google also has a place where you could report paid links (beware!), you never know.. your competitor could be sypying on your to repot Google!

Now, here is more on to the topic.. i was surprised to see an interesting or should I say a Spammy ad via Google AdSense at Digital Point Forums. While browsing a thread on Automatic URL Submitter, I happened to see the ad below from Google AdSense:

Two Questions:

  1. Where is the Website URL on the Advertisement ?
  2. Where is Ad by Google?

Aren’t these basic policy of Google AdSense to display the url of site and ads by google on every advertisement displayed through Google AdSense to classify that what viewers see is an ad?

Understanding what search term or keyword a user query could be a tough job unless you spend time researching on them. There are tons of tools and softwares that help you to do the keyword research but they don’t come to you for free!

If you want to benefit yourself from free keyword research tool that Google rolled out recently named Insights for Search, this guide will certainly help you do that!  Google Insights for Search is another extension from its most popular Google Trends which helps users to compare the world’s interest on any topic.

The important feature of the tool is that it shows how frequently the topics or search terms have appeared in Google News Stories and in which Geographical Regions people have searched the most.

First day at my SEO Job at Juretic Media

logo

http://www.vinayis.in/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/search-engine-optimiser-juretic-media.jpgMonday! My first day at work as Search Engine Optimiser at Juretic Meida (Creative Internet Marketing Agency). Had a great time knowing my role, tweaking around my e-mail account, support and extranet logins. I just saw how organized a commercial work is.

I was bit nervous about my environment at office before I arrived but the scenario was totally different, people were so welcoming and cool!

Being the start of week, everybody were busy with their work. The project manager helped me with setting up my account and helping me get used to their internal system which was developed in-house and it was just brilliant. Robert, gave me a good start by providing me a brief up about our clients and tasks associated with it.

Neven made sure I was comfortable around and I was gladder when people in spite of their busy schedule found time to email me welcoming for job and made sure I was going good. Having an office near to one of the best beach in United Kingdom (Brighton Marina) and with my colleagues being ultra cool I wouldn’t have wanted anything more. Spent sometime after lunch analysing and getting my work started.

Came back home in evening, myself along with couple of friends went for a small trekking on a hill near to my home. I never knew we had such a magnificent place! Went to the top of hill, had a great time and it was rock-on-roll while getting down.. great adventure I must say.

Cool work and crazy adventure in evening. Spice dinner at night..! Glad things are moving around too good. Great start for the week.. Will update more as my work and freaky adventure continues around.

Cheers! Have a great week ahead!

My New SEO Job at Juretic Media – Search Engine Optimiser

logo

What a great way to start a month with a confirmation on your Job Offer! Yeap, I am very glad to announce through my blog that I have been recruited as Search Engine Optimiser at Juretic Media.

Established in 2001, Juretic Media is an Internet Marketing Agency based in the centre of Brighton. It’s a great place to live and work, with the sea just a stone’s throw from the office. Brighton is the silicon beach of the UK and has attracted a whole host of amazing and successful media companies. It’s a great place to keep your finger on the pulse of the latest technologies and web trends.

It’s been a great and to be precise the best experience I had through my interview process, people following me over this blog would have known about my previous experience here, here and here. Juretic Media is par excellence in recruitment process and I had spent quality time from day 1 since when I met Mr. Neven Juretic (Director, Juretic Media).

Search Engine Optimiser - Juretic Media

To wrap things simpler, applied for this position after receiving an RSS Alert from Wired Sussex on July 20th 2008, to my surprise I got an response the very next day (which doesn’t happen or never happens with most other companies) with a kind response requesting my availability on Tuesday (23.08.2008) and as any enthusiastic candidate would do, I confirmed mine very soon after receiving the email.

The interesting twist here was, Juretic Media were looking out candidates with Commercial Experience, and my CV carried no information on my experience over SEO/M and the email I had received also explained me about it and the reason they were interested was because of my CV and Websites (URL’s in CV!) , which they reviewed (and found interesting) and invited me for an interview.
