There comes the Santa! Oh Ho.. boy…it’s festive season and look what’s Orkut (Google Social Networking Application) got for us? Themes for Orkut, Themes are a fun way to customize your orkut profile. Here’s how you can change the background of your profile and scrapbook page:

1. Click the settings link on the left sidebar of your orkut homepage or profile page.
2. Go to the themes tab. (If you can’t find it at settings link, click the Edit Profile on the side bar.)
3. Select the theme you’d like to apply to your profile.
4. Click update at the bottom of the page.

If you change your mind, you can always go back to the settings (or) profile page and select another theme.

Notes:

• The theme you pick will be viewable by you and anyone who has access to your profile.
• You can only add the themes available on the settings page.

The Orkut Themes were available to users from certain demographic (India) back in May 2008 and , this christmas Orkut is making them available to UK & US users as a surprise gift! They also have an extra delight - The Holidays on Orkut ! Orkut has also added several new updates and features which I’ll blog in a separate post.

So go ahead, play your music.. dance with the lovely Christmas Theme from Orkut and expect yet another surprise for New Year 2009 from Orkut!

Note: The only theme available for US & UK users is “Christmas Theme” and the Default Theme (Orkut Blue). A new theme for New Year should be coming soon as seen in screenshots above.
