Today’s Fortune!

logo

NO! I didn’t meet any Astrologer nor I did subscribe to any sites to know about my fortune (nor I believe them anyways!). Orkut has a tiny sweet feature which displays a random “Today’s Fortune” each day you login to your account. You can find it under your profile views on Home Page. It is indeed random and displays from a database which contains loads of such fortune for users. Its a small way to entertain and provide people something new & fresh.. atleast a fortune each day fills them up!

Yahoo! Messenger for Windows Vista Released

logo

The image “http://www.ymessengerblog.com/images/vistapreview.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.Yeap! Yeap! Yeap! Gosh.. have been waiting for this like months… looked liked an year ever since Windows Vista went live for public on January 2007. Just logged in to check my email and Yahoo! Messenger (sender) with Test-drive a preview of Yahoo! Messenger for Vista (Subject). I was surprised for a moment if I was one of the beta-tester, grrr.. buts its in Public-Beta. Anyone who uses Windows Vista can test their beta version of Yahoo! Messenger built just for Vista versions.

What do I do when some New Version is out? Check TechCrunch, if they have covered a news and it was obvious they did!! And secondly check Yahoo! Messenger Blog (Official) and indeed there was a detailed post as well. Finally to confirm it I am an unlucky beta tester, by checking the link embedded in email if opens in a new browser without any login & sure it does!

All your Vitsa (not many.. but) and Yahoo! Messenger freaks, chill out @ http://messenger.yahoo.com/windowsvista.php while I update the post with my little review. I am happy with current version but lets have a peep at what this has, after waiting for a long looking YouTube video 10 months back, which has a preview of Yahoo! Messenger for Windows Vista by their Product Manager! Now, time to test drive this app. If you don’t have patience (neither do I), look at TechCrunch & Yahoo! Messenger Blog for updates! You can check my previous preview of Yahoo! Messenger for Windows Vista (posted back February 2007 - some screenshots and pics missing due to blog change).

GAIM - Gmail + AIM! AIM integrated with GMail

logo

Its not an acquisition spree (!!), Google has not purchased AIM and will never (?). I just noticed google slipping in a new option of adding AIM users to GMail Chat (integrated chat application in GMail). I wasn’t aware of this earlier but now got to know from their “Whats new on Gmail page?” and ofcourse the red colored text inside the Gmail which gives me update of new feature!

The image “http://mail.google.com/mail/help/images/aim_math.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

I ain’t frequent AIM user but I am sure the GMail, GTalk users who have AIM account would be lot benefited with this integration. Should go well with USA crowds and lot other who have AIM :) ! I do indeed have a AIM (with not much or less friends in it). I noticed this option when I was selecting ‘options’ from Chat inside my GMail (ok! its Google Mail in UK!). I could see a option which says “Login to your AIM Account”.. was surprising but I did give a test and it logged me in successfully without any issues.

The image “http://mail.google.com/mail/help/images/aim_scrshot.gif” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.Well, atleast now I should be using it regularly ;) ! Thanks to google for this friendly & social update… Expecting more from GMail … but sad part is this feature has not yet been enabled in Stand Alone GTalk ? Thats bad Google, I have been seeing lately, not much of updates for the stand alone Client (last one was Group chat which now the GMail client has!). Take care to update your networked products atleast the Standalone of GTalk! I believe they experience a low usage of GTalk when they people have better and sophisticated client inside a browser?

However, the “File Sharing” & “Call - Voice” feature is missing in client integrated in the browser. Would we be seeing them soon as well? Expect a reply soon from Google ;) !
