Last week, an interesting survey popped up about bloggers in the U.K. It claimed about a third of them risked losing their job for posting derogatory and damaging details about their workplace and fellow employees including bosses. The survey concluded bloggers “must realise the potential impact of all postings.”

And the situation was compared to the time in the early 1990s when email, which was just becoming popular, was abused.

Microsoft Unveils Surface Computing

Check out this video showing off the new Microsoft Surface Computer. It’s pretty slick! The Surface computer is able to recognize physical objects from a paintbrush to a cell phone and allows hands-on, direct control of content such as photos, music and maps. Surface turns an ordinary tabletop into a dynamic surface that provides interaction with all forms of digital content through natural gestures, touch and physical objects.

Orkut down for site maintenance!

Oh my my!! I was in Orkut from morning browsing TOEFL iBT community to get some hints and suggestions as I need to take up my exam tomorrow, just couple of minutes back when I was about to post a reply to one of threads in Orkut, I encountered a message which said its down for site maintenance! Off late I have been experiencing this very often.. is it due to huge number of members or junk messages thats seen almost all community. Its high time Google spent time looking into Orkut and developing it with care. I come across so many useful communities and quality is threads are almost extremely good but in situation like today when I have exams tomorrow, i really need orkut to be live!

So, here is what I got when tried posting reply and now I can’t access any part of it as well:

I would be glad if its back from maintenance phase, need to go through many threads around there and mostly have to contact couple of members who can really be helpful when you need one. And I wish Google Gears could provide a support to Orkut in immediate future atleast to the communities so even when its down, I can use search functionality to browse important threads which would really add some face lift!

And Happy June! He He.. Just wishing you all a good start in June ! I got loads of works ahead this month and most importantly an important turning point in my career. Have exams rolling up - GRE & TOEFL and then we got PodWorks (PodCasting Workshop) and much much more in days to come! And hey, today is Chennai’s Safety Day!! Finally the Government has imposed a regulation that every driver has to wear his/her Helmet, a compulsory act which when voided could give you a heftily amount of fine! So Drive Carefully with your Helmet on and enjoy your journey, this also extends to people who drive by car to wear safety belt!

Update: Orkut is back, it took around 20 minutes for the folks to get back with the bang! I am glad it got resolved so soon! Did they really hear me up ?
