If you had been in Chennai yesterday, you would probably had witnessed the hottest temprature of the year! I felt the roads and houses were burning.
In Meenambakkam, the mercury touched 42 degrees Celsius (107.6 deg. Fahrenheit).
Would have the power to withstand this ? Certainly not
The month of May is the hottest period as far as this metropolis is concerned. This is when the the `Khatri’ or `Agni Nakchatram’ period occurs and when intense heat wave conditions are experienced. This year this period starts on May 4 and goes will continue till May 28.
Already the city is burning with the highest temprature and do you expect that the city would have higher temprature in coming days. May 4th to May 28th, I think we should quit the city and have a vacation .. but unfortunately our Semester Final exams starts from May 22nd and goes on till June 5th. Tough days ahead.
Residents are complaining of unscheduled power cuts
As temperatures soared, parts of central Chennai has been experiencing “unscheduled power cuts” they say.
One of the saddest part in these times, even a power cut of 2 minutes would almost make you bath in the hottest sweat! I take bath atleast 3 times a day to withstand the heat or atleast a average of 2, without which you cannot survive at all.
Hopefuly the government should do their best to reduce the power cuts, as this is the crucial period where one requires power 24 hours round the clock.
Hmm.. Most of Tamil Movie fans must be aware of two big entertainment portals namely Galatta.com and BehindWoods ?
And the only difference that these both have are, Galatta is more concentrated on Professional way of presenting news, and avoids most of rumours, small news related with daily life of actor or acctress, but behindwood is a step ahead, they update with every possible news they could get from Kollywood (which I enjoy the most).
With elections round the corner, AIADMK ministers are showing their respect and support for chief minister J.Jayalalithaa or Amma in a new manner through their hello tunes. They have selected songs that pay respect to amma or mother. Whenever a person calls on their cell phone they hear these songs.

AIADMK’s Alandur candidate B. Valarmathi has chosen the song Kaalayil Dhinamum Kanvizhital Kaithodum Devathai Amma from the movie New.
Guess what? You read it correct, here is a interesting news that flashed over all websites on Wenesday (19th April 2006), about 8 year old kid who stole his teacher’s car and drove to him which was 1 km away. Sound weired ?
An 8-year-old boy swiped his teacher’s car keys and took her minivan for a joyride, cruising safely home and into the record books as the city’s youngest auto thief, police said.
Interesting to know that it went into the record books so soon, the record rate is higher than crime rate at California (USA) ?
