Well, we are not gonna talk about google this time, but one of the recent product that google introduced today the “Google Talk“.
They say talk is cheap. Google thinks it should be free. Google Talk enables you to call or send instant messages to your friends for free–anytime, anywhere in the world.
Couple of days back, when I was surfing some tech news site, I remember seeing news about many research works going around google and they were on they way of launching an IM (Instant Messenger), and even named if Google Talk, most of the people were able to check their site (http://talk.google.com), even before they launched it, due to research works, google was working on thier sub-domain talk, and when the news got leaked on the net, people started to crawl on their site and all of sudden the domain was brought down.
What info I got was true, the post had some additional info, Google was trying to undertake Skype for a big deal, later for some reason, it changed its plan and wanted to develop its own Voice messenger, so took the open source client ” Jabber” and customised to their likings with high quality of voice transmission.
As we all know Google is known for its usability, and one of its main reason, why people stick to google, when its Search! So these were some of the details which I knew prior to launch, but I did expect a much customised client with support for Instant Messaging.

My only comment about this for now (since its in beta) “Simple ‘n’ User Friendly”, and I would also like to remind this is not a Instant Messenger like Yahoo! and MSN, who’s main purpose is text messaging with added features such as Voice and Video chat, Google Talk is a Voice Messenger basically with some extra feature the “Text Messaging” and the best deal is “AD-FREE” no ads in the client.

An exclusive news that I came across on in todays News Paper [THE HINDU]
COIMBATORE: It was not exactly love at first byte. But the photograph of an actress turned online friendship into love. Terrence Soundar (36), a Sri Lankan based in Canada, was bowled over by a woman thousands of kilometres away, at Selvapuram in Coimbatore.
Instead of her photograph, Poonkodi Krishnan (30), a resident of Chokkampudur Road, sent a snap of the actress. It brought her a laptop, a digital camera, cosmetics, equipment to establish a beauty parlour, a music system and many other electronic gadgets. By the time the truth was unravelled, Mr. Soundar had spent Rs.2.2 lakhs on her.
Poonkodi gave her name as Archana and told Mr. Soundar that she lived in the house of her uncle, “a former minister.” She claimed that her late father was a lawyer and her mother, a doctor in London.
When Mr. Soundar contacted her over the phone, she asked him to fund her education. In a complaint with the city police, Mr. Soundar alleged that he also gave Poonkodi Rs.1 lakh to complete plus-two, as her relatives had refused to help her.
Poonkodi gave her real name and her savings account number to Mr. Soundar, saying those were of a friend. The money was promptly sent to the account. Another Rs. 20,000 was sent later. Subsequently, she asked him to send materials needed for a beauty parlour. Mr. Soundar came to Coimbatore in September 2004 to hand over the materials worth Rs.1.5 lakhs. Saying her uncle would not allow her to step out, Poonkodi gave him an address where he could deliver these items. He left without seeing her.
When he showed the photograph of his “fiancée” to his friends in Canada, they identified it as that of the actress. He lodged a complaint from Canada with the City Police Commissioner, Karan Singha. A team led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Vidya Kulkarni, arrested Poonkodi on Tuesday.

Hint : The actress was none other than “Asin”, one of the happening actress of Tamil Nadu, probably you would be knowing her well, if you have seen her movie M.Kumaran, Son of Mahalakshmi and recent one “Ullam Ketkumae” and follow ups are “Ghajini”, “God Father” and “Sivakasi” ! Bollywood star John Abraham has joined the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals cause.
In the latest PETA ad, John tries to raise awareness about the cruelty involved in the capture, breeding, and caging of birds.
“Birds aren’t meant to learn silly human words or swing in a cage,” the hunky actor says, holding an empty cage. “They are supposed to roam free in the skies and sing songs for each other.”
The ad is shot by John’s brother Alan Abraham.
