Changes In Life

logo

A new day…new month.. how about new me?  Well this is one of my another random rambling, might not make sense but as time passes by and when I look back the time line I’ll cherish the achievements over years. I hope I stick to my plans and actions.

A change that I’ve been awaiting…! Oh well, as long as there is a time.. there is always a change. But beware.. a time once lost cannot be regained again. Use your opportunity and let success be yours.

And if this post didn’t make you think I was crazy, you should also look at my recent tumblr post. When are you going to Change?

Bing - Ask and You Shall Find!

logo

Ask me what’s hot in the Search Industry, I’d call it ‘Bing‘ - Microsoft’s New Search Engine (or Decision Engine) debuting soon (June 3rd 2009). The whole of Internet and Media over the past few months were in speculations on the new search brand of Microsoft - Kumo, Sift etc., Rober Scoble defines BING = Bing Is Not Google! an unfotunate acronymn (or But It’s Not Google / Bing Is Not Good.. etc.,)

Bing.com - Bing and Decide

Ok, so what’s the true meaning behind the brand ‘Bing’ and why did Microsoft go with it? Steve Macbeth from Bing Development Team gives his view:

Bing.com - Ask and You Shall Find

“Actually the brand in China will be “?? Bing”, these characters in Chinese are pronounced “bee-ying” and are part of a Chinese proverb “????”, which means “ask and you shall find”.

Maximum Apps on iPhone - 148 on 9 Screens!

logo

Today was a Mad Day! I reached the maximum apps that can be installed on an Apple iPhone (with OS 2.x)

148 Apps on 9 Screens (16 Default + 128 You Can Install)

148 Apps on 9 Screens (16 Default + 128 You Can Install + 4 on bottom App Bar)

Here are some statistics I found on reaching maximum apps on Apple iPhone:

148 (Total) 16 (Default) 128 (Installable) 4 (on App Bar) on 9 Screens

148 (Total) 16 (Default) 128 (Installable) 4 (on App Bar) on 9 Screens

  • Default Apps Installed: 16 (which cannot be removed)
  • Maximum Apps you can Install: 128
  • Apps on App Bar (at Bottom Dock): 4
  • Total Apps: 148 (16 + 128 + 4)
  • Maximum Screens: 9

Summing up: There are 16 apps installed by default which cannot be removed on the Apple iPhone/iPod Touch. Maximum no. of additional apps that an user can install is 128 apps plus 4 found in app bar at bottom (dock). Also the maximum screens you can flip through being 9.

I tried installing an Application, like every other app the installation went through but you will not be able to view until you remove any existing App. The installed app then takes the space of removed app. These break down are only for the current OS 2.x but with the introduction of 0S 3.0 in couple of months.. you could (probably?) go on with 1000+ apps?

You might want to check my 148 apps (Free + Paid + Jail Broken Apps) on Flickr.

Cheers!
